I really want to watch high-def movies. Really, really want to own them.

I want high-def movies so badly I'm willing to watch Escape From New York on demand to get my fix for HD.

But there's no way I'm investing in either a Blu-ray or HD DVD player and potentially throwing my money away. It just isn't worth it.

In addition to the breaking coverage of the Sony and Pioneer Blu-ray player delays, I've recently gotten the first official word regarding Philips' BDP9000 Blu-ray player, which is available now in Wal-Mart stores.
