After sacrificing everything for his country, Jack Bauer (Sutherland) is wanted by the U.S. government and now stands to lose the only thing he has left: his freedom. Working as a missionary in Africa, Bauer is called upon to stop a ruthless warlord from drafting innocent children into his murderous militia. First, Bauer must confront his own torturous past and face an impossible decision that will change his life forever. A decision that will set the stage and raise the stakes for Season Seven, which debuts in January 2009.
First thoughts:
- I think I already saw this movie. It was called Blood Diamond.
- Jon Voight = total badass
- Is this at all going to tie in with the real 24? I can't help but worry that it won't
- 24 has always been at the forefront of presidential politics. First David Palmer, now this new prez.
What do you think?
I'm so excited that they decided to do an African movie in between seasons. This almost makes up for the writer's strike. It looks like it has all the ingredients for success.
Non-stop action - check
Jack getting tortured - check
Jack breaking the neck of his torturers - check
Gut wrenching scenes of kids with guns - check
political corruption at the highest levels - probably a check
It won't be the same as being able to watch 24 episodes, but hopefully it will be enough to tide me over until January.
