What Do You REALLY Think?

If the Internet is all about conversations, why aren't you asking more questions?

  1. I agree that the internet is more about throwing your opinion out into the void sans spell-check, but that *is* a form of conversation.

In real life, conversation is a statement that invites comment, interspersed with questions. A pure question/response session is not a conversation but an interview.

Also, a question online takes the form of a search or a visit to a bulletin board. Where are you seeing a lack of questions?

  2. Yeah, it's a loaded question. Here's where I'm going with it:

Bloggers often make a statement — and then ask for their audience to respond. I do it, we all do it.

Presumably, you have something in common with your audience, though — that's why they visit. So why not, instead of solely telling them what you think, regularly just ask them what THEY think?

The best quote I've heard recently is that "Most personal websites are masturbatory and serve no real purpose."

We could argue that, but my point is more this: why don't more people ask their trusted audience first, and then respond?

    Just a thought.
