I'll try and post these thoughts of the day when I can. It's a lot easier to record a bit of audio and discuss what's going on than try and type it out clearly and concisely!

  1. Awesome podcast, I'm glad I picked the very first show to tune in. Normally, I don't spend a lot of time listening to podcasts, but as soon as I saw 24, I knew that I needed to tune in.

It is kind of funny how quickly things unfold in the show. For a while I thought that bloggers worked at Jack Bauer speed, but it still takes a day for a story to work its way through the social networks. You're right about the reality though, it takes time to break someone down and it usually won't work with a severed lamp cord and a 15 minute timer. If you've ever seen La Femme Nikita, they depict the torture scenes a little more realistically. Instead of using brute forced, they'd get them hooked on some kind of a narcotic and then take it away until they gave them the info that they were looking for. This is probably more how the real CIA does things, but who really knows what goes on down in Cuba.
