The Irony of Productivity Blogs

Admit it: you read blogs when you should be doing other things.

You should be working. You should be exercising. You should be spending time with your family.

Instead, you're sitting at the computer, reading blogs. Like Lifehacker and Steve Pavlina.

What's the irony? These are productivity blogs — which aim to help you get more done.

Today, Steve Pavlina has posted "33 Rules to Boost Your Productivity" and "33 Rules to Boost Your Productivity – Volume 2" giving his users a lot to read.

It's ironic. By spending your time reading 66 "boost your productivity rules," you're easily wasting 20 minutes of your day. And you've probably clicked on one of the related links at the bottom to find out more or read other articles.

That's not very productive.

I didn't read either list. I was off getting work done.

(Disclaimer: I'm a big fan of Lifehacker. Just needed to get the point across.)
