What One Slashdot Pickup Can Do For Your RSS Feed

There was a highly placed link to the site on the sister page, which resulted in a huge traffic boost (and a conversion rate of about 75 percent — simply awesome).
While getting Slashdotted can do a lot for meeting numbers goals — the traffic is obviously not consistent. I've previously written about ways to retain visitors from a Slashdot boost (with the number one way also easiest way to retain surfers in general), and it's important to know just what one of those pickups can do for your traffic and RSS feed.
A Slashdot pickup will provide a major traffic boost, but that's a one-day thing. The boost to your RSS subscriber number is way more important — because that's return traffic.
So what kind of return can this boost do?
Here's a snapshot of traffic numbers — the last day is obviously the pickup — and how the RSS subscriber jumped. 10 times.
