Kol Echad's Ahava Bli Sikui and Best of Jewish A Cappella

Jefe shot over an email this afternoon with a message that Kol Echad's Ahava bli Sikui (audio link), my arrangement and the opener to Meshuga, will be included on a Best of Jewish A Cappella CD to be released this summer.

I don't know much more about it, besides that it's being put together by Jordan Gorfinkel (of the great comic strip Everything's Relative) and that it has some other collegiate and professional Jewish a cappella groups in it (which doesn't say much about the quality of it).

Glad to see that the CD is getting some facetime. In the niche of Jewish a cappella, there isn't too much high-quality out there (well, except for the really fake stuff. No names, please) and there's a lot of crap. If I can say so myself (without being overly egotistical), Meshuga's a great CD — production-wise, song choice-wise, and solo-wise. Yeah, not every song is going to be great … but the whole is more than the sum of its parts.

Here's to the next one being even better.
